About Me

My name is Tessandra Lancaster (she/her/hers), but I usually go by Tess. I'm a Licensed Master Social Worker who became a therapist to cultivate my favorite parts of life: Fun. Joy. Love. I wonder, what are your favorite parts of life? Because I want to help them grow too!

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, husband, friends, and 3 adorable tabby cats. I've lived in Texas for most of my life, and Austin for 12+ years. Some hobbies of mine include hiking in nature, live music, writing, and most definitely all things geek culture: anime, video games, graphic novels - I can't get enough! I wouldn't be where I am without the powerful stories I've come across and the loving people who support me.

Our relationships and passions can lead to healing and growth, and my approach as a therapist is to be your friendly guide along the way. Your goals and dreams become our destinations. Your courage, vulnerability, and commitment form the steps we take to get there. And all the while, I provide radical acceptance and knowledge of wellbeing to help us navigate obstacles created by pain and trauma.

Clinically, I blend several modalities and modify them to fit each client's needs. Everyone is unique, and so too are their journeys. I pull most heavily from Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, but also Gestalt Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Interpersonal Neurobiology as well as neuroscience in general. I'm trained in Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR), as well as my favorite modality: Therapeutically-Applied Role Playing Games (TARPGs)!
